Director, Digital Infrastructure Technologies

The Director of Digital Infrastructure Technologies is a leadership position responsible for the conceptualisation and development of emerging digital infrastructure technologies and maturing their readiness to national scale. This position will play a critical role in enhancing our country's digital capabilities and readiness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and will be comfortable leading a diverse team of professionals to achieve our organization's goals. You will work closely with stakeholders within the organisation, government, researchers, and industry partners to understand and shape the future of digital infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team in the implementation of strategic technology plans and programmes, design and implementation of new systems and improvements to existing infrastructure, including communicating to stakeholders.
• Monitor the latest trends and developments in digital infrastructure technologies, such as quantum communications and future wireless communications technologies, and establish deep understanding of these technologies. Develop strategic technology plans and programmes to mature emerging digital infrastructure at scale for impactful infrastructure that can realise the goals of our digital economy.
• Oversee both internal as well as industry engineering capability build-up in planning, development, execution and operationalisation of digital infrastructure.
• Ensure the successful implementation of advanced technology solutions in line with the organization's strategic goals.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, industry, and government agencies, to identify opportunities, including strategic partnerships, for digital infrastructure innovation and improvement.
• Provide advice to other agencies as well as other divisions within IMDA, such as for Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) programmes, and other industry programmes. 
• Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure the successful completion of infrastructure projects.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technology leadership role with a focus on digital infrastructure, such as wireless, wired and quantum communications technologies.
• Strong understanding of the latest trends and technologies in digital infrastructure. An avid learner of new and emerging technologies.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience providing strategic advice and guidance to government stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong presentation and engagement skills, both technical and non-technical.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills to collaborate with both local and overseas partners and stakeholders.
• Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, industry partners, and researchers.
• Highly self-driven, a team player and fast learner.

Position will be commensurate with experience.
