The Personnel shall be competent to perform the following:
(a) Prepare chemicals, specimens and apparatus for laboratory lessons while ensuring that MOE safety guidelines and standards are adhered to.
(b) Assist the Science teachers during laboratory lessons such as distributing chemicals, specimens and apparatus.
(c) Maintain the SOPs and cleanliness of the Science laboratories.
(d) Ensure that the equipment and apparatus are in good working condition and well-maintained.
(e) Perform inventory checks on resources and maintain adequate level of stock in the laboratories.
(f) Assist in the organising of Science events/field trips for pupils.
Perform any other duties and tasks assigned by the school to support the Science curriculum.
The Science Laboratory Technician shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
a. At least GCE “O” level certification.
b. Preferably, with at least 1 year of working experience as a Science Laboratory Technician in a local primary school
c. Good interpersonal, communication and planning skills.
d. Basic ICT skills and knowledge of chemicals
e. Ability to multitask, work both independently and as a team.
Show initiative, meticulous attention to details and able to handle pupils adequately.
