Job Overview

Incumbent reports to Senior Manager, Product Development (NPI). He / She will be responsible for managing and monitoring the project timeline, ensure timely products delivery to customers and internal stakeholders, this includes management and effective communication of timeline, subcontracting factories, logistic, designs conceptional with external suppliers and internal stakeholders for timely product quality and finalization prior to mass production (manufacturing process).


Responsibilities and Duties

The incumbent will oversee the planning and schedule to delivery for new products prior to commercialization, with a focus on consumer electronic goods. Incumbent will oversee and coordinates assembly needs for new products to finalization prior manufacturing stage. Document the process along the way from scratch to designs, supplies, mapping out, planning, coordinating both internally and external. Manage and document full process flow of:

  • Responsible for delivery success of New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Transfer to commercialize new electronic devices through maintain ownership of project scope, schedule, resource and budget.
  • Assume role of Operations lead in NPI. Drive Operations Team. Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, QA and Supply Chain to plan and execute activities in transition from development to mass production. As point interface with PMO, R&D and Business to Operations in core team.
  • Work closely with Product & NAV team to create and update BOM and specifications.
  • Work with the Device R&D team to ensure specifications are up to date.
  • Participate in Project Core Team meetings or Extended Team meetings to drive action to solutions.
  • Organize project meeting and compile project status report to achieve project scope, schedule, resource and budget.
  • Drive operational readiness to support development builds, trial manufacturing build and initial mass production. Conduct reviews and compile reports.
  • Participate in new process development, optimize existing process, and implement technical breakthrough activities through Lean / Six Sigma methodology to reduce manufacturing costs and/or enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work with PMO and R&D to develop initial product cost estimate and monitor cost through the development phase against cost targets. Participate in cost reductions where possible.
  • Drive / Embrace Design for Manufacturability (DFM) on new products with R&D and Operations to improve overall first pass yield at product launches.
  • Maintain and ensure systems and procedures are compliance to the Organization’s Quality standards and Regulatory requirements.
  • Any other ad hoc responsibility tasked by the reporting Manager / Senior Management

Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, etc)

  • Diploma and above / relevant Trade Certifications in Electronic / Electrical Systems, Mechanical, or related
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in consumer electronics companies in a similar role preferred or relevant experience in leading medium to large scale projects involving consumer electronics.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on in Project Management experience. Experience in project management software such as ClickUp is a plus.
  • PMP Certified
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing, supply chain, quality standards/regulatory requirements will be added advantage.
  • Project Management, Quality Focus, Database Design, analysing information etc.
  • Efficiency in reporting research results, attentive to detail, emphasizing excellence in Innovation
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines with demonstrated ability to drive improvement
  • Strong in Project Management with proven track record.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to lead and drive meeting / discussion, communicate issues and resolve conflicts within cross functional teams,
  • Good planning and organization skills, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in the tobacco industry
  • willing to test the products should the occasion arise
