About The Role
The successful candidate will be reporting to Engineering Manager, and responsible for providing the technical and engineering support for both the Sustaining Product Manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI) rollout of high-end life science instruments.
The key responsibilities are as below:
Sustaining Products
- Monitor, improve, and maintain assembly and test first-pass yield
- Perform line fallout verification, production, and RMA debug
- Provide training to line operators on assembly and test
- Plan and coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers to implement actions required to evaluate and qualify necessary manufacturing process, SW, tester, or product component changes
- Update Manufacturing Instruction (MI) and Work/Test Instruction (WI) SOP for ECN release
- Work with Customer Quality Engineer to have effective containment and resolution of quality issues
- Initiate and work on Continuous Improvement opportunities: yield or quality improvement, cycle time reduction, test automation etc
NPI
- Liaise cross-functionally with VLab R&D, VLab NPI, and customers in NPI rollout activities and readiness for the first production
- Production Line setup and equipment planning for new project launch, define manufacturing line layout, sourcing for tooling, fixtures, and equipment, and prepare CAPEX for NPI build
- Generate Manufacturing Instructions for pilot as well as mass-pro build
- Perform assembly and test cycle time and touch time analysis
- Plan and assist to execute Prototype builds, Engineering builds, and Pilot Builds
- Work extensively on the NPI product qualification and verification through DFx review, PFME, and tester buy-off throughout the product development phases
- Conduct product proto assessment, and channel the necessary feedback to the product design team for improvement before moving to the first production
- Track and monitor the PP and post MR build, iron out product quality or any unforeseen issues, ensuring a healthy and stable product yield is achieved
About You
- Degree in Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, and/or any relevant principle, with a minimum 3 years of related experience
- Good analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex life science instruments issues systematically
- Knowledge in electrical & electronics components and circuitry, test and measurement, and using various test equipment for troubleshooting (DMM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc)
- Familiar with mechanical assemble and ability to apply to DFM/DFA study
- Experience in SW programming skills (Microsoft Visual Studio, NI Labview, Keysight VEE) or RPA (UiPath, AutoIT) will be added advantage
- Familiar with SW/Tester validation and verification, GR&R analysis
- Experience in LEAN or Six Sigma, Certified Practitioner will be added advantage
- Able to front customers and suppliers on technical and manufacturing-related issues
