Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation:Install a variety of equipment, including servers, network switches, routers, and firewalls onto racks in data centers.
Replace components on existing equipment such as server mainboards, CPU, RAM, HDD/SSDs, network line cards/modules, transceivers, and cables.
- Cabling and Connectivity:Conduct patching of fiber optics and Ethernet cables on racks, ensuring accurate connections to designated ports and interfaces.
Maintain proper and organized cable management standards.
- Server Preparation:Prepare servers for operation, involving tasks such as OS installation, basic network and firewall configuration, and application installation.
- Operational Tasks:Execute operational and maintenance activities, including cable tests, power cycling of equipment, and configuring console interfaces for remote access.
- Troubleshooting:Perform troubleshooting tasks, such as ping/traceroute, hardware tests, and generation of hardware logs for escalation to equipment vendors.
- Inventory Management:Manage inventory and ensure accurate tracking of all assets.
- Compliance and Security:Enforce and adhere to data center processes, access control procedures, and relevant rules and regulations.
- Vendor Coordination:Escort external vendors into the premises as required.
Requirements:
- Min Nitec in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines
- Candidate with no experience is welcome to apply, training will be provided
- Proficient in equipment installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of data center operations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
