Our client is looking for a Finance Director for a leading European Manufacturing company, the role entails overseeing technical finance and accounting operations and fostering strategic business partnerships in a lean, matrix organizational structure, balancing both aspects effectively for organizational success. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, leadership acumen, and a collaborative mindset to drive financial excellence and support operational decision-making.
Job Description
Operational Finance & Accounting (50%):
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards.
- Lead the financial reporting process, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Drive process improvements in financial systems, controls, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost-effective financial strategies.
- Provide guidance on accounting policies, procedures, and standards.
Business Partnering (50%):
- Serve as a key business partner to operational leaders, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Conduct financial modeling and analysis for strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions, offering financial expertise to drive organizational success.
- Foster a collaborative culture by building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of international accounting standards.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance both operational and business partnering responsibilities.
- Experience working in a lean and matrix organizational structure.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
