The Engineering & Project Management Director oversees and coordinates the daily operations of highly skilled design, engineering & project management function while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met. The Engineering & PM Director also assists end users, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors with comprehensive technical support on the use of Tate’s product offerings in both new and retrofit Data Center & commercial office applications. The Engineering & PM Director also provides guidance on the implementation of best practices to maximize energy efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Leads and coordinates overall engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.
- Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- Serves as project manager for multiple projects, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
- Assists in product testing and evaluation, both physically and with the use of CFD software tools.
- Evaluates construction specifications and provides product recommendations to meet project requirements.
- Detailed review and sign off all product development and manufacturing drawings sets
- Works with Cost Managers on development of BOM’s for manufacturing
- Works with Operations Manager on CAD/CAM programming/process development for manufacturing
- Provides application engineering support for existing and future products designed to support the Mission Critical/Data Center space and containment solutions.
- Oversees project management of all onsite program and construction management for Asia supply only projects
- Assists in the development of whitepapers that support the use of raised access flooring and structural containment and their peripheral products.
- Identifies trends in Data Center design and helps guide R&D in the development of new products to respond to market requirements.
- Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in the Mechanical Engineering field with at least 6 years’ commercial engineering experience required.
- Experience completing electrical infrastructure surveys and measurement a plus.
- General knowledge base of cooling technologies and strategies to condition the Data Center environment preferred.
- Working with mechanical fixings for MEP structures a plus.
- Prior energy audit work and cooling optimization knowledge a plus.
- Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).
