- Develops and implements a comprehensive three-year sales plan and cost budgets in collaboration with the VP/Director/Manager
- Communicates the plan to relevant teams and ensures alignment through regular reviews.
- Responsible for driving sales growth and increasing gross margin in line with objectives and strategic plans. Empowered to make pricing and margin decisions where applicable, with significant input at key customer accounts that impact business profits and overall market performance.
- Identifies and cultivates new business opportunities by prospecting and following up on leads and sample requests.
- Plays a key role in shaping the market strategy for the next 1-3 years, communicating plans to relevant stakeholders.
- Manages territory priorities and routes to market, identifying new trends and markets that will impact future business performance. Provides commercial guidance on product support and new product development.
- Provides prompt reports on business activities, identifying threats or opportunities in the designated market. Implements improvement plans and gathers market data on prices and competitor behavior to inform Sales & Marketing teams.
- Visits customers to promote and recommend products, coordinating projects and development work with them.
- Represents the company at exhibitions and undertakes marketing projects to promote new and existing products.
- May work from a home office and is expected to travel significantly, including overnight stays.
- Maintains regular communication with and influences relevant sales networks and external contacts to manage business in the market area, which may involve coaching and supporting agents and distributors.
- Makes decisions and judgments under time pressure and with incomplete information, addressing complex internal and external commercial, regulatory, technical, customer, production, agent/distributor, and intercompany issues.
- Expected to enhance the efficiency of sales systems and procedures.
- May include line management responsibility in some locations.
Requirements:
- Sales experience is required. International experience and knowledge of cultural differences are advantageous. Familiarity with regulations is preferred, and market knowledge is essential
- The ideal candidate should be IT literate with strong interpersonal and communication skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to plan and organize effectively
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Additionally, candidates should demonstrate commercial awareness, excellent time management skills, adaptability, initiative, and strong decision-making abilities. Resilience and tenacity are important, as are numeracy skills and fluency in English.
