- Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses to assist clients in making informed business and investment decisions and to evaluate strategic alternatives including M&A and capital raising activities;
- Types of financial modeling analyses include accretion / dilution to evaluate the impact of a transaction on an acquiror’s earnings per share, pro forma financial statement analysis to determine growth and margin characteristics, synergy analysis to assess incremental revenue opportunities and potential cost savings, and leverage analysis to determine appropriate transaction structures and assess the potential impact on credit ratings;
- Types of valuation analyses include intrinsic value approaches such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis and market-based approaches such as precedent transactions and public trading comparable analyses in order to assist clients in determining the value of a business or asset;
- Pitch financial structures and strategic ideas to clients and quantify their financial impact;
- Analyze capital markets trends (such as macroeconomic factors, market and sector momentum, peer valuations, market volatility) and industry trends (such as consolidation/de-consolidation, investment in R&D, technological advancements, regulatory environment, competitive dynamics) to inform clients about recent developments as well as potential business development opportunities;
- Keep informed of current public policy and lawmaking, via industry resources, in order to determine the impact to certain industries or clients;
- Analyze different companies within industries to evaluate relative performance and valuation;
- Data input and analysis of historical financial data used for subsequent performance projections;
- Create charts and graphs utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word to show various concepts such as industry dynamics, market/company performance, and other trends;
- Perform administrative functions throughout deal processes such as setting up calls and meetings, and other coordination functions; and
- Compile and summarize research from a variety of sources and industry experts.
