We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Junior Carpenter to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about woodworking and eager to learn and grow in the craft of furniture making. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of skilled carpenters to assist in all stages of the furniture-making process, from conceptualization to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior supervisor in the construction and assembly of custom furniture pieces.
- Learn and apply basic woodworking techniques, including measuring, cutting, sanding and finishing.
- Help in the maintenance and organization of the workshop, ensuring tools and materials are properly cared for and stored.
- Participate in the preparation and finishing of wood surfaces.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Support the team in managing inventory and supplies, making sure materials are readily available for projects.
- Contribute to the design process by providing ideas and feedback during team meetings.
- Engage in customer service tasks as needed, such as answering queries and providing updates on project progress.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or courses in carpentry or woodworking is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong desire to learn and a keen interest in custom furniture making and design.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in woodworking or carpentry is beneficial but not required.
