Static Equipment Integrity Engineer - Pre Ops / FPSO - 2 Years

Overall Job Purpose:


Responsible for the execution of the Static Equipment Integrity Coordination scope of work, focusing in the Integrity Management Process of the equipment controlled by the MODEC's Own Service of Equipment Inspection, predictive maintenance, process performance and condition monitoring, quality assurance and quality control of subcontractors, and development and improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance plans, in order to ensure and maximize assets reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and integrity (RAMSI), as well as contributing to the Operations procedures and results achievement, established for the business.


Core Responsibilities:


Support the MdB's corporate annual budget planning (expenses and investments), by providing information based on previous experiences, technical knowledge, and best practices of the market.


Contribute to continuous improvement of IMS by following up and filling in projects status and updating and monitoring the implementation of IMS Documents under Static Equipment Integrity Coordination and maintaining the equipment master list updated.


Participate in risk analysis workshops and safety reviews to contribute with Integrity engineering expertise and support the Operations team.


Contribute to the Operation Reliability and its performance (inspection, non-destructive tests), regarding the Inspection Plan and guidelines of the Static Structure Integrity coordination, by monitoring and analyzing inspection results, guaranteeing the traceability of information, performing proper root cause assessments, and providing technical review/recommendation. Furthermore, develop, if necessary, together with the responsible of equipment design, proposal of modifications to prevent or mitigate the deterioration processes.


Contribute to the attendance to the maintenance and equipment inspection policies, regarding to the Reliability Engineering, by applying the guidelines and lessons learned from the Technical management.


Contribute to the compliance with the sector regulation (MPT, SPIE regulation/NR-13, etc.), by developing and executing inspections plans within the Static Structure Integrity coordination scope, focusing on Operational security needs, as well as monitoring KPI`s actions plans and elaborating SPIE reports.


Contribute to fleet performance improvement and safety by analyzing MOCs, TQs, NOIs, performing RCAs/FMEAs etc., and providing technical recommendations to support the Operation team.


Monitor process safety barriers' KPIs and provide technical recommendation, when necessary, to ensure the effectiveness of process safety barriers to maintain the facility's operation within ALARP level. Furthermore, it is extremely important to ensure the verification of the safety devices as safety valves, rupture discs, flare, etc., based on written procedures, in order to ensure safe condition for operation of equipment.


Elaborate technical recommendations or actions plans to meet the Operations needs and feedbacks of the Technical management, Fleet maintenance support, subcontractors, and Operations areas


Support MdB's BID/EPCI process by providing technical review and O&M cost review through bidding team and pre-ops team.


Participate in workshops with offshore inspectors and provide technical recommendations in order to ensure that their work is performed in compliance with contract specifications and legislation.


Sporadic embarkations on the vessels might be required for these activities.


Assist the organization in the external and internal audits by conducting the evaluation and approval of the

documentation requested by the legislation, providing the necessary clarifications regarding the integrity management system and the required evidence related to the controlled equipment. Moreover, record (information traceability) and analyze the audit results, defining or proposing actions to eliminate non- conformities.


Contribute to effective planning and monitoring of shutdown and decommissioning (equipment and offshore unit) plans by defining the shutdown scope (equipment list, NDT exam, tests, measurements, replacements, repairs, or modifications to be carried out) related to controlled equipment, through legal compliance and integrity evaluation.


Organize the activities related to NR 13 / SPIE together with the Equipment Inspectors from the Offshore Units, by including files and documentation, such as official books, calibration certificates, internal and external inspections, inspection reports, hydro-test and carrying out audit in the manufacturers.


Ensure that the information is addressed clearly and objectively so that everyone involved has a full understanding of this information. As well as establishing the integration between the departments involved in order to consolidate the quality of the information flow from the identification to the closing of the deviation and/or improvement.


Contribute to the definition if an equipment has or not condition to operate satisfactorily in order to ensure Operations reliability by participating in decisions or developing technical studies and informing to the involved ones the results of inspection reports, repairs or replacements recommended to restore the physical conditions in satisfactory levels.


Contribute to the hiring of 3rd parties to perform inspections on SPIE/NR13 Equipment and draw inspection isometrics by properly defining Scope of Work and participating in Kick-Off Meetings with potential suppliers.


Ensure the compliance with NR13 / MdB specifications in the fabrication of equipment by attending Hydrostatic Test at Manufacturer Workshop.


Ensure that all equipment is in condition to operate, complying with internal standards, NR13/SPIE specifications, by generating "punch items" lists as outputs of the initial inspections and following up the development of action plans on these lists.


Ensure the proper register of all Pressure Vessels, PSV, Boilers and all others static equipment by developing datasheets and inspections reports and filling in the integrity management software (SGI) with reliable and updated data on this equipment.


Ensure that Integrity Inspectors' and PSV Mechanical Technicians' work is performed in compliance with contract specifications and legislation, as well as complying with NR13/SPIE standards and procedures, by planning and following up the distribution of activities of inspection plans and providing technical recommendations when necessary.


Contribute to fleet performance improvement by constantly cooperating with other Tiers and Modec entities, to absorb and apply all lessons learnt from other Unit Phases (Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance, Decommissioning) for the new vessels in construction, as well as provide new lessons learnt and improvement opportunities discovered during the Pre-Ops project.


Sporadic follow ups in the shipyard during the Construction Phase and visits to vendors' factories might be required for these activities.

HSSE: Act in compliance with the corporate HSSEQ Management System Policy, the MODEC Life Saving Rules, and the policies, guides, process standards and work instructions available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Act to promote the preservation of the environment, the health and occupational safety (personnel and their team), the safety of processes, and the preservation of assets in their scale of responsibility.

Ethics and Compliance Policies and Local Procedures, their respective forms, online and live mandatory trainings: is committed to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and obligations and act in accordance with the highest ethical standards and with MODEC values.


Emergency Plan: As per indication on the Training Matrix, Emergency Management Guide and Offshore EmergencyManagement, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).


Relevant Experience and Qualifications :


Junior Engineer : 2 years of overall experience is expected. Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge. Previous experience in integrity management, implementation / maintenance of SPIE and ISO certificates, and failures analysis is a competitive edge. Previous experience as part of a SPIE technical group is a competitive edge.


Engineer : minimum 4 years of overall experience is expected. Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge. Previous experience in integrity management, implementation / maintenance of SPIE and ISO certificates, and failures analysis is a competitive edge. Previous experience as part of a SPIE technical group is a competitive edge.


Senior Engineer : minimum 7 years of overall experience is expected. Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is expected. Previous experience in integrity management, implementation / maintenance of SPIE and ISO certificates, and failures analysis is a competitive edge. Previous experience as part of a SPIE technical group is a competitive edge.


Engineer Specialist: minimum 10 years of overall experience is expected. Previous experience in Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas area is expected. Previous experience in integrity management, implementation / maintenance of SPIE and ISO certificates, and failures analysis is a competitive edge. Previous experience as part of a SPIE technical group is a competitive edge.


Well written and spoken english with advance portuguese is required.


Intermediate Microsoft Office package knowledge is required. Basic CMMS systems knowledge is expected (SAP preferred). Basic Power BI knowledge is a competitive edge. Basic SGI knowledge is a competitive edge.
