POSITION SUMMARY

Intertek Lintec is looking to add to our Business Development team in Singapore to help further grow and develop our Marine Testing, Inspection, Decarbonisation, Assurance & Certification services in the Asia Pacific region. This role will be a Singapore home-based position with regular travel througout the Asia Pacific region.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational / Quality

  • To attend and be actively involved in regular Senior Management Meetings and assist in the strategic business directions and decisions of the company.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within assigned geographical regions.
  • Prepares quotations and tenders for new business opportunities.
  • Carry out regular Key Account Management meetings across the designated clients and countries assigned.
  • Utilises Intertek’s CRM tools to improve market intelligence & understanding.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's service offerings as well as external market trends.
  • Manages and maintain a pipeline; ensuring all sales information is current.
  • Carry out client meetings in a professional manner, deliver all relevant business information and endeavour to gain a maximum level of client feedback with respect to their company, the marketplace, competitive activity, and Intertek Lintec’s services.
  • Assists in the development of junior staff.
  • Attend industry conferences, seminars and exhibitions whenever and wherever required.
  • Prepares and presents technical and business presentations whenever and wherever required.
  • Work with internal teams to facilitate service delivery.
  • Work with clients to find solutions with regards to the decarbonisation of the industry

Decision Making Required (but not limited to)

  • Identification of target clients.
  • Recommendations regarding client strategy.
  • Correct course of Action – with respect to acting upon customer feedback and information.
  • Correct course of Action – to manage dissatisfied customers.
  • Advise on market, testing, environmental and quality issues with respect to the services Intertek Lintec supply and offer.
  • Budget Constraints – Arrange travel, accommodation and expenses for customer visits and conference attendance in line with agreed company budgets.
  • Continued development of the Intertek Lintec LIMS.

Personnel

  • Provide guidance to the Singapore based Operations Executive if necessary, during Singapore working hours & cover urgent emails in the event of absence if cover unavailable from UK team.

Employee Safety & Wellness (ES&W)

  • Ensuring that the duties of the position, and those of all staff for whom the job holder is given responsibility, are conducted in a manner consistent with satisfying the obligations imposed upon the company and the job holder by the Health and Safety at Work Act, and the provisions of the company's management system.
  • Ensuring that ES&W training programmes are followed in line with the Intertek recommendations and to bring to the attention of the Lintec Director any ES&W training needs for staff.
  • Ensuring that staff avoid unsafe acts and follow company ES&W procedures, and highlight any cause for concern to the relevant individuals and if required, site management.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions as near misses on the iHSE system, encouraging other staff to do so, and reviewing near misses with site management and assisting in implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensuring that routine checks are carried out on all safety devices and that all safety devices and manufacturer’s instructions are followed when using equipment.
  • Ensuring, that suitable and sufficient documented risk and COSHH assessments are available for the work being carried out, if not, then assess work related hazards and risks and document assessments as required.
  • Ensuring that minutes of the UK Safety Committee meeting are available to all staff and that all safety alerts and relevant ES&W information is up to date and displayed on the safety notice board.
  • Participating in local ES&W review meetings with site management, ensuring that minutes are produced and distributed, and present toolbox talks to staff as required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS / SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (may be compensated by substantial work experience if lacking).
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of all Intertek Lintec’s services.
  • Knowledge of Petroleum Products and their properties.
  • Knowledge of Marine Industry operations and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of Client Company activities.
  • Knowledge of all competitive testing companies.
  • Proficiency in Computer skills.
