Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute transportation plans to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.
- Implement strategies to optimize delivery routes, reducing costs and improving delivery times.
- Collaborate with carriers and third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Analyse transportation costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to achieve budgetary goals.
- Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international laws.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation operations.
- Work closely with the inventory management team to coordinate transportation and warehouse activities, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
- Address and resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays, damages, and discrepancies, in a timely and effective manner.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technologies to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Maintain open communication with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers to facilitate smooth operations and address any issues promptly. Other ad-hoc assignments required by immediate superior.
Prerequisite:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics management.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or its equivalent.
- Knowledge of Singapore’s traffic regulations and ISO requirements.
- Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP).
- Good organizational and coordination abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to think and react quickly to solve problems.
- Team player and able to work independently and track multiple processes.
