Accounting / Finance:
- Oversee full set of finance and accounting functions which include financial and management reporting, financial planning and budgetary control.
- Responsible for financial management, consolidated accounting, statutory reporting, treasury management, tax management, funding, investment/divestment and governance.
- Lead the team to oversee and provide support for Accounting, Finance, and daily operations.
- Responsible for reviewing, recommending, and implementing proper Accounting Processes, Procedures and Guidelines, Administrative Accounting Procedures, and ensuring procedures and policies are adhered to by the Finance team.
- Manage the annual closing of accounts, year-end audit process and preparation of the statutory financial statements for the group including managing the relationship with external auditors.
- Supports the forecasting and planning process for the company.
Tax/Treasury:
- Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice.
- Ensure the transfer pricing policy/guidelines are adhered to within the inter-related company.
- Lead the treasury function for the company, including cash and liquidity management, funding management for existing and new initiatives, foreign currency and interest rate management, treasury operations, etc
- Coordinate with external financial entities on behalf of the company to establish banking relationships, obtain banking facilities, and negotiate bank rates for CMS and Trade Finance-related services for the Company.
Internal Control:
- Supervise all audit and internal control processes.
- Establish and implement accounting procedures and policies by generally accepted accounting principles that meet local regulatory compliance requirements.
- Continuous process improvement to ensure financial figures are correctly recorded and internal control is in place.
- Evaluate current practices and policies within the finance department and strive to drive continuous improvement.
- Manages audits of the business by working closely with internal and external auditors to guarantee accuracy in reporting.
- Work with various functional leaders/stakeholders to ensure internal controls are adequately put in place/designed and monitored.
Other Functions:
- Training, mentoring and development of staff
- Serves as a business partner to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
- Make recommendations on both strategy and operations.
- Managing and overseeing the company’s accounting systems
- Participate in various business improvement/ ad-hoc projects as assigned by Director
- Approve Accounts Payable according to the matrix of approval.
- Support new initiatives for continuous improvement in financial and management accounting and systems to improve operating cost efficiencies
