Job Description
The East Asian Institute at the National University of Singapore is looking for a Research Assistant with an excellent university degree, preferably with working experience in research on China and East Asia, with focus on US-China Relations, Public Diplomacy, Public Opinion, Political Psychology, Social Media and Authoritarian Politics.
Qualifications
He/she will be part of a research team and will handle the following work:
- Conduct quantitative research about foreign firms’ sentiment operating in China, and their strategies to de-risk, diversify or decouple, or potentially re-couple amongst other aspects of research on China and East Asia;
- Analyse the business sentiment of firms amidst global political and economic uncertainty;
- Document the impact of geopolitical tensions on firm behaviour in China, including strategic decisions to decouple, diversify or de-risk, or re-couple;
- Follow ground level sentiment on China’s regulatory environment and the challenges it poses to the conduct of businesses.
- Candidates should be a team player who is able to work independently and swiftly.
The Candidate must have a relevant PhD with a proven track record of competency in independent research.
