Overview:As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will lead by example, overseeing and coordinating the activities of cleaning staff while actively participating in hands-on cleaning tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning duties are carried out efficiently, meeting high standards of cleanliness. Additionally, you must be proficient in operating various cleaning machines and equipment. Responsibilities:
Supervision and Hands-on Participation:
Lead and supervise cleaning staff, actively participating in cleaning tasks alongside them.
Demonstrate proficiency in operating cleaning machines and equipment, including but not limited to vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
Provide guidance and training to staff on proper cleaning techniques and the safe use of equipment.
Task Assignment and Coordination:
Assign cleaning tasks to staff based on priorities, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
Coordinate with other departments to schedule cleaning activities around business operations and events.
Quality Control and Inspection:
Conduct regular inspections to ensure that cleaning tasks are completed to the required standards.
Address any deficiencies promptly, providing feedback and guidance to staff as needed.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, initiating orders as necessary.
Ensure that cleaning machines are properly maintained, serviced, and repaired as needed.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and safe working environment for all staff.
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving cleaning staff or equipment.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain open communication with cleaning staff, management, and other departments.
Provide regular reports on cleaning activities, including any issues or concerns that arise.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the cleaning industry.
- Proficiency in operating various cleaning machines and equipment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Above secondary or equivalent; additional education or certifications in cleaning management or related fields is a plus.
