Resposibilities:
- The FF&E Designer will collaborate with the project team, including architects, interior designers, and clients, to understand design objectives, project requirements, and constraints.
- Thorough research will be conducted by the FF&E Designer to stay updated on industry trends, materials, and finishes related to FF&E design in the hospitality sector.
- The designer will create conceptual design proposals for furniture, fixtures, and equipment that align with the project's overall design concept, brand identity, and target audience.
- Detailed FF&E specifications, including product descriptions, dimensions, finishes, and materials, will be developed by the designer, ensuring compliance with project budgets and timelines.
- Sourcing and selecting appropriate furniture, fixtures, and equipment from suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors will be handled by the FF&E Designer, considering factors such as quality, cost, lead times, and sustainability.
- The designer will create comprehensive presentation materials, including mood boards, renderings, and sample boards, to effectively communicate design concepts and gain client approval.
- Accurate documentation, such as schedules, budgets, and procurement plans, for the FF&E design scope will be prepared by the designer.
- The FF&E Designer will collaborate with the procurement team to review and evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and manage the purchasing process for FF&E items.
- Coordination with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors will be done by the designer to ensure timely delivery, installation, and quality control of FF&E elements.
- The designer will conduct site visits to assess progress, address design-related issues, and provide guidance during the installation phase.
- Staying updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovations in FF&E design, and proactively sharing knowledge with the team to foster continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field is required. A professional certification in FF&E design is a plus.
- Proven experience as an FF&E Designer, preferably in the hospitality industry, is desired. Experience in luxury or boutique projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit, as well as visualization tools like Adobe Creative Suite, is essential.
- The FF&E Designer should possess strong knowledge of furniture styles, finishes, materials, and manufacturers, with an understanding of industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Excellent conceptualization and presentation skills are required, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas through visual representations.
- The designer should be detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, including architects, interior designers, procurement professionals, and contractors, is essential.
- Strong sourcing and procurement capabilities, including negotiation skills, vendor management, and familiarity with supply chain processes, are desired.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and a commitment to incorporating environmentally friendly materials and processes in FF&E selection is preferred.
- Flexibility to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events as required is necessary.
