Job Description

The Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) at the National University of Singapore is recruiting a team of dedicated full-time lecturers. The position is on a non-tenure Educator Track, contracted for three years in the first instance and renewable subject to good performance.

Responsibilities:
• Teach various core FST subjects at undergraduate and graduate level, supervision of Honours students and graduate students and involve in pedagogical activities such as course material development, student counselling and mentoring, student performance evaluation, and evaluation of program outcomes.
• Participate in curriculum design. Explore the effective use of new media to enhance learning experience.
• Promote best practices, innovate educational technologies and support evolution of education strategies.
• Demonstrate engagement by leading/contributing expertise to the departmental projects, events and initiatives.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline. Desirable ones include food science and technology, human nutrition or public health.
• University-level teaching experience with good student feedback preferred.
• Preference will also be given to those with relevant work experience and those who bring professional capabilities.
• Ability to work independently to manage academic and associated activities, including the ability to work towards deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continual pedagogical improvement and a scholarly approach to education.
