CellResearch Consumer Health is a wholly owned subsidiary of CellResearch Corporation, a Singapore biotechnology company specialising in stem cells derived from the umbilical cord lining. CellResearch Corporation discovered in 2004 that the umbilical cord lining is the highest yielding and purity source of ethical stem cells currently known to man and has patented this technology.


The company harnesses cord lining stem cells to create a highly potent active ingredient that is used within its cosmetic and consumer health line CALECIMĀ® and Sollagen. CALECIMĀ® Professional products are formulated for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation.


Role Description:

As a production planner at CellResearch Consumer Health, you will play a crucial role in the planning and executing all aspects of our production process, including raw material sourcing, to ensure an adequate supply of high-quality finished products for sale. You will run data analysis, reports/dashboards planning, and interpret data to present to key stakeholders. In addition, you will manage cost efficiency, optimise production and procurement of raw materials and packaging components, and coordinate with external manufacturing partners, including those based in China. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to ensure smooth production processes, quality standards, and timely product availability.


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning: Analyse and study historical data of raw materials and numeric skills to run reports, interpret the Schedule Production Plan, and present data to support the Planning/Supply Chain overview. Perform MRP Raw Material Planning based on demand from forecast/ orders and inventory strategies. Coordinate, follow up and execute ERP transactions to ensure the right Build of Material of raw materials, components, and intermediates are available from start to completion of Finished Goods, including logistics.
  • Managing from order receipt to finished goods availability to ensure meeting customer's demand and monthly/quarterly production output target.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and monitor the supply of raw material components, order management, and stock replenishment
    Monitor inventory ageing and work with key stakeholders to evaluate root causes and disposition options for aged inventory, ensuring execution and securing finance reserves for scrap disposition. Organise yearly stocktake on all raw materials and components.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Source and procure primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging components from domestic and international suppliers, focusing on China-based partners. Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to identify risks and opportunities for cost, process improvements, and innovation, and ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
  • Inner Case and Carton Case Quantity Optimization: Analyse inner and carton case quantity requirements for new product launches, considering packaging, transportation, and storage costs. Develop strategies to optimise inner and carton case quantities while maximising operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manufacturing and Filling Coordination: Work closely with external manufacturing and filling partners to ensure smooth production operations, timely delivery, and adherence to quality and regulatory requirements. Monitor production schedules and supply visibility, address production risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Data Master Management: Manage the data master creation and maintenance of raw material components in the ERP system. Ability to define product line for use in production, business units, and order processing. Keep current on product launches, changes, and discontinuations by the Marketing team to gather relevant information to manage product master data changes, including 1) Tracking all the changes to a project plan and conducting all the necessary follow-ups to the conclusion of the project plan. 2) Store and maintain documentation related to the changes in a central storage location.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the Quality Assurance, Marketing, and SCM teams, to ensure 1) compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements in the production processes, including documentation, testing, and inspection of packaging components to finished goods. 2) align production activities with business goals and priorities. Collaborate on new product launches, promotions, and other initiatives to ensure successful execution.
  • Cost of Goods Analysis: Create, maintain, and analyse the cost of goods sold (COGS) for all products and raw materials. Monitor and report on production costs, including direct and indirect costs. Analyse and report on the cost of materials used in production. Identify cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations. Develop and implement cost control measures.
  • Documentation of SOPs: Create, review, and identify areas of improvement in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders across departments. Conduct periodic reviews of SOPs to ensure compliance with changing regulations and industry best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the supply chain, mechanical/manufacturing, or industrial engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within manufacturing/production planning or procurement roles, preferably in the consumer goods or beauty industry
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other production management methodologies is preferred.
  • Preferably with experience in international sourcing and procurement, particularly with China-based partners
  • Knowledge of packaging components and filling processes in the consumer goods or beauty industry
  • Commercial awareness: Understands the impact of supply decisions on business profitability.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements, such as FDA regulations, ISO standards, and GMP guidelines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly motivated personality to execute business changes, meticulous, comfortable with numbers and data
  • Have a sense of urgency, resourceful, responsible, and can work independently and in a team to handle diverse situations.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel Macros with knowledge of using production software from ERP systems such as SAP, Futurmaster, and NetSuite Oracle is preferred.
