Summary:
- SPPG Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission cable project.
- To supervise project safety works related to excavation, shoring, earth retaining, stablishing structures, temporary traffic diversion work, cable pulling & jointing activities, cable tray installation, electrical testing and comissioning, safety, and health control measures etc.
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time stand in site safety supervision for SPPG Extra High Voltage cable transmission project works related to excavation, shoring, earth retaining, stablishing structures, temporary traffic diversion work, cable pulling & jointing activities, cable tray installation, electrical testing and commissioning, safety, and health control measures.
- Ensure that contractor and their subcontractors comply with SPPG's safety requirements
- Attend/Conduct daily site toolbox meeting and site safety workshop
- Report any non-compliance to project engineer/WSHO
- Assist WSHO to supervise contractorsto implement safety management/control system on site
- Carry out check on the sub-contractors' work to ensure that they comply with the safety regulations & requirements
- Conduct daily inspection and rectify any unsafe condition and unsafe practice immediately
- Attend all safety meetings, inspections and ensure that good working condition is maintained in the site.
- Conduct daily Toolbox meeting for main contractor's workersto brief about the safe work practices and housekeeping
- To monitor and ensure all workers & staff have attended relevant safety training courses
- Educate the workers about the proper usage of PPE and ensure the compliance at the site
- Check and maintain the documentsof the lifting equipment, electrical equipment testing/calibration report
- Coordinate with the client’s Safety Representatives and contractors’ safety team.
- Issuance of memo against the Safety, Health and Environment violation.
- Prepare the minutes of site safety committee observation/findings and discuss in the meeting if needed.
- Follow and ensure the Safety committee’s recommendations are complied with.
- Assisting WSHO in the accident investigation and report preparation.
- Check and ensure the availability of first aid boxes and firefighting equipment are prepared by contractors on site.
Requirements:
- The Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator (WSHC) shall have minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in projects similar in nature to the works.
- The WSHC shall have Safety Coordinator Certification or relevant experience
- Experience in the following areas will be additional advantage: Have site safety coordination experiences of contractor works for SPPG 66kV, 230kV and 400kV cable projects. Familiarize with civil temporary shoring design, HDD, pipe jacking and EHV cable laying process.
