The Surface Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is global provider of various drilling solutions such as Top Hammer and Down-The-Hole drill rigs designed and produced in Tampere, Finland.
We are now looking for a temporary Product Manager for the period from 1 Aug 2024 to 31 Dec 2025. This role has a focus on construction drilling equipment and will be reporting directly to VP R&D and Product Management, Surface Drilling. The position is based in Singapore with significant amount of international travel required.
Your Mission
As Product Manager for construction surface drills, you will be leading the product offering development by creating the future offering strategy and vision. You translate long and short-term customer needs to technical requirements and work with the engineering team to develop solutions to meet those needs. You are also a business case owner and sponsor for new development projects in your area of responsibility where you make sure new products meet the acceptance criteria before launch.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Technical and business ownership of the products in your area of responsibility, including both new product development and lifecycle management of existing products.
- Competitor and market analysis.
- Product specifications and pricing plans.
- Developing and maintaining product and technology roadmaps with other product managers and key R&D personnel.
- Creating value propositions for new and existing products and communication to sales organization through product brochures and other marketing material.
Your background and what we find important
You have a formal qualification in a relevant field of engineering or other related field of study and should have several years of experience working with mobile machinery, preferably in mining or construction industry.
You are interested in combining technical knowledge with business knowledge. You also have significant experience in product management position(s) with extensive knowledge of drill rigs, construction and quarry drilling applications. Most importantly, you have the drive to continuously improve both products and the ways they are developed. You must be fluent in English, verbally and in writing, and is a good team player who enjoys working in a diverse and multicultural environment where English is the official business language. Experience in a managerial capacity would be advantageous.
