Business Development Director

Ace Technologies Pte. Ltd.

Job Duties:

  1. Conduct comprehensive market research to identify opportunities, trends, and potential challenges in the China market. Analyze competitor strategies, consumer behavior, regulatory environment, and industry dynamics to inform market entry strategies.
  2. Based on market research findings, develop and recommend market entry strategies tailored to the China market. This may include strategies for product localization, distribution channels, pricing, branding, and partnership opportunities.
  3. Identify and establish strategic partnerships with local companies, distributors, suppliers, or government agencies to facilitate market entry and expansion in China. Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements that align with the company's objectives and compliance requirements.
  4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry associations, government officials, and business leaders in China. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand the company's presence and influence in the market.
  5. Generate leads and manage the sales pipeline for potential clients or customers in China. Develop and execute sales strategies to convert leads into business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and achieve revenue targets.
  6. Continuously monitor market trends, competitive activities, and regulatory changes in China. Provide regular updates and insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making and adjustments to market entry strategies.
  7. Stay informed about local laws, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the company's operations in China. Work closely with legal counsel and regulatory experts to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, marketing, operations, finance, and legal to ensure alignment and coordination in executing market entry strategies for China. Facilitate communication and cross-functional collaboration to overcome challenges and achieve objectives.
  9. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of business development activities in China. Regularly assess progress against targets, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  10. Offer cultural insights and market intelligence to guide decision-making and business interactions in China. Understand cultural nuances, business etiquette, and communication styles to build trust and rapport with local partners and stakeholders.


Requirements:


1. Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, international relations, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles, with a proven track record of success in expanding into international markets, preferably in China.
  • Previous experience working in or closely with the Chinese market is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the technology, manufacturing, consumer goods, or related industries is advantageous.

2. Market Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of the Chinese market landscape, including consumer preferences, regulatory environment, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Familiarity with cultural nuances, business practices, and etiquette in China.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable strategies.

3. Business Development Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute market entry strategies for China.
  • Proven experience in building and managing strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and sales networks in international markets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in China.

4. Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives to successful outcomes.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with internal teams, external partners, and industry associations to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders while maintaining a focus on results.

5. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify opportunities, and develop creative solutions.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and techniques to evaluate market trends, track performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions.

6. Adaptability and Resilience:

  • Adaptability and resilience to navigate challenges and uncertainties inherent in expanding into international markets, particularly in China.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage ambiguity, and remain agile in response to changing market conditions or business priorities.

7. Language Skills:

  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred, along with fluency in English. Additional language skills relevant to the China market may be advantageous.

8. Travel Flexibility:

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to China and other international locations as needed to support business development initiatives and build relationships with stakeholders.
