Area Manager Singapore - Retail Sales & Customer Experience

As an Area Manager Singapore, you are responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in your Area by setting a plan to deliver a Great Customer Experience in line with the Sales Market ambition. You ensure you have great teams and support their development. You work with succession planning, talent and leadership development and structured performance management for your Area Team and Store Managers based on results, values and leadership. As a partner to the Sales Manager, you lead the business and people according to H&M values, standards, policies and procedures in your Area.


Key responsibilities

  • You deliver on sales and profitability through excellent customer experience – regularly analyzing and following up on your Area’s sales and profit kpis and taking actions accordingly to maximize results. This is achieved together with the Area Controller to set hours plan inline with sales budget, traffic and conversion opportunities in stores.
  • Together with the Area Team, you prioritize actions that have a clear impact on selling – such as, and not limited to, implementing and following up on store operations best practice; follow up on store execution via customer experience tool; ensure H&M customer service standards are delivered in all stores; securing the inventory / customer offers at an optimized level; and empowering store management team to make right commercial decisions.
  • You actively prevent loss together with store management and area team, as well as have an overview of competitor landscape, potential risks, threats and opportunities together with the relevant support office functions.
  • Oversee and manage recruitment, training, development and succession planning for Store Managers and Area Team in line with your sales market strategy and goal – you monitor, evaluate and manage the performance of Store Managers and Area Team members, executing dialogue, development plans, feedback, follow-ups and take actions accordingly.
  • You actively work with talent and leadership development within the Area Team and Store Managers, bringing to live our Values and H&M Culture.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role as Area Manager, you should have strong customer and commercial focus and is passionate about talent development, performance delivery and leadership, with proven ability to drive results and work towards goals. You should have a broad leadership knowledge and experience that understands the overall picture from our Brand and People Plan.


What you need to succeed:

  • Have senior leadership experience within the retail sector.
  • Are skilled in managing multiple stores including strategizing, planning, budgeting, P&L management, merchandising and marketing, etc – and are sales driven, customer focused, and result oriented.
  • Have proven leadership skills and ability to secure top talents through learning and development, talent growth, performance management and succession planning.
  • High level of salesmanship and analytical proficiency; is skilled in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Effective collaborator with strong stakeholder management and communication skills with proficiency in English.

This is a full-time position, based in Singapore, reporting to the Sales Market Human Resource.
