The mechanical engineer is part of a project team that will design, develop, test and deliver a variety of custom-built Mobile Command & Communications Vehicles for various public security and defence purposes.
- You will be responsible for the mechanical design of the MCCV, which encompasses the physical design, spatial planning, development and testing of the mobile shelter, on-board infrastructure and support the integration of required communications systems into the MCCV.
- You will Perform FEA & CFD analysis to determine the feasibility of the designs proposed.
- You will work closely with the Systems Engineer to ensure the required systems can be installed and integrated properly within the MCCV.
- You will prepare and submit various project-required documentation, such as Design Reviews, Safety Assessment Reports and Acceptance Test Reports.
- •You will have to present the proposed designs and safety assessment reviews to clients throughout the development of the MCCV to demonstrate that technical requirements are met and addressed.
- You will be required to liaise with and conduct ad-hoc inspections on vendors to ensure the smooth progression of the project up to completion and delivery of the project deliverables.
- On-Job Training will be provided to bring you up to speed on the required level of expectation to meet for work performed.
Requirements
- You should be someone who likes to solve complex problems and can do so with creative solutions when faced with constraints
- You should be organized in your work and have clarity of thought when approaching issues to be resolved
- Foundational knowledge of Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer is required while working knowledge in mechanism design, pneumatic and hydraulic systems would be an advantage
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD is required.
- Working knowledge of FEA & CFD analysis is an advantage.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD, ISO, SS, guidelines will be an added advantage
- Experience in the design of enclosed rooms and/or shelters with consideration for HVAC, power sizing and ergonomics will be an added advantage.
- Experience in micro-controllers & programming will be an added advantage.
