Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the quantity surveying activities, ensuring accurate cost estimation, cost control, and cost management throughout project.
- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on cost-related matters to project teams, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Conduct regular cost assessments and prepare reports detailing project cost performance, variations, and potential risks.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor and track cost expenditure against budget, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective measures as required.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a QS Manager, preferably in building construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation techniques, and cost control procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in the construction industry.
- Able to read and understand structural drawings.
