JOB DESCRIPTION:
As Regional Head of Expansion, you build, recruit, lead and develop a team of expansion managers, regional head of construction & facilities, and regional head of controlling. You contribute to the profitable success and customer centric focus of the region by setting overall strategic expansion plan, portfolio management, optimization and investment, as well as procurement strategies. As a partner to the Regional Manager, you lead the business and people according to H&M values, standards, policies and procedures, in the marketsof Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan and Korea – Region East Asia (EAS).
Key responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with the Regional Manager, you set and implement the expansion strategy and portfolio management plan in your region; taking ownership in ensuring existing portfolio and new projects, are optimized to deliver both financially and commercially.
- With your extensive knowledge on leasing, legal, C&F, procurement, and the real estate market in the region; you secure that all strategies, negotiations and contract execution is inline with company legal and ethical standards.
- You foster customer centricity by having an expert understanding of each business case and is able to coach in negotiations and strategizing; encouraging cross functional collaboration, securing profitability and yearly expansion plan.
- Being accountable for the region’s profitability and the occupancy cost level, of the region’s portfolio, you take relevant actions to secure financial health of the portfolio’s long-term prospect and is responsible to manage all projects to meet their sales and cost budgets.
- You secure high professionalism of teams in your markets by giving clear feedback on development areas, providing ideas, and promoting cross-department and cross-brand collaboration; as well as through frequent country visits to learn and identify challenges, threats and potentials.
- Create conditions to enable performance of teams and individuals through talent identification and development; proactive pipeline and succession planning, building a future organization and diverse team.

Besides your personality we see that you have / are:
- Formal education in engineering, C&F administration, law, or equivalent.
- An experienced manager in the retail expansion sector or relevant industry, with expert level knowledge in expansion strategy, portfolio management, leasing, C&F, and procurement.
- Relevant experience as a leader to varied teams in a multi-country context.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate business context into needed actions with exceptional stakeholder management.
- Experience in working strategically (e.g Project Management) and strong analytical skills.
- You are a networker who easily connects with other people and mentalities across departments.
- You have proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
