Our client is a renowned and global commodity/ energy MNC based in town. It is a market leader in the energy sector with a sound reputation.
The person will report to the Regional Head of Credit APAC and work in a team. You will be familiarized with the credit risk profile of the Asia business. You will be tasked to escalate significant credit risk issues, facilitate the execution and improvement of risk management processes and provide solutions to the traders to achieve the business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support onboarding and assess the creditworthiness of trading counterparties
- Prepare and monitor credit exposures, limits and overdues of the Asia portfolio on a timely basis
- Prepare credit reviews and requests to credit committee
- Provide inputs to improve credit risk frameworks, processes and methodologies for new products and markets
- Advise and work with various stakeholders to implement appropriate credit mitigation tools including insurance, trade f inance, netting and guarantee agreements
- Keeping abreast of market news and developments impacting portfolio
- Participate in counterparty meetings with traders and marketer.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Has a good degree from a renowned university. Has 4-8 years relevant credit experience; preferably gained in banking (supporting commodity/energy clients), oil majors or commodity trading firms
- Hands-on and proficient with data, numbers, quantitative and qualitative credit metrics
- Team player and results driven, with an open non-political work style and a high level of personal integrity
- Energetic, resilient and resourceful, with ability to work accurately under reasonable pressure
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Self driven, and willing to put in added hours when required to accomplish the assigned tasks
