The Working Capitol currently operates its first site out of a refurbished 1920’s biscuit factory in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown, with a community of members comprising of solo-preneurs as well as some of the hottest tech unicorns.


We are looking for a Chief Operating Officer to join us:


The Chief Operating Officer report to the CEO. The role is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of projects and day-to-day operations within the organization. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and ensure the successful delivery of projects and operational excellence.


Main job responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the overall projects and operations strategy aligned with the The Working Capitol's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities, resource allocation, and operational initiatives.
  • Lead the project management team in planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
  • Ensure effective project communication, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with established standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize operations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers, operations managers, and other team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to enhance team members' skills.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align projects and operations with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and operational processes.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for projects and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure cost-effective resource utilization and adherence to financial guidelines

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management.
  • Extensive experience (typically 8 years) in a leadership role overseeing projects and operations, preferably in Real Estate, Co-Working or Retail environment.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing and delivering projects on time and within budget. ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams towards achieving common objectives.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on achieving long-term goals while managing day-to-day operational needs.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles related to budgeting and resource allocation.
