Job Responsibilities
- Lead critical new client onboardings by facilitating Legal Document Negotiation (ISDA / CSA / Regulatory documents) and credit documentation
- Work on key frameworks to enable clients to give new-to-bank flows. e.g non-standard collateral framework, clearing enablement for Swaps and other bank and securities products.
- Collaborate closely with Credit Risk department to formulate and roll out credit policies for new client segments and initiatives
- Coordinate business approvals for legal documentation (non standard collateral, additional termination events etc)
- Minimize risks, delays and maximize quality standards while ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations while onboarding clients
- Improve and simplify overall SMBC Institutional onboarding process with a goal to reducing turn-around times for onboarding
- Pro-actively engage all business partners with a view to prioritize and coordinate the various onboarding streams to deliver best-in-class client experience.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Law
- Legal training or experience specifically handling ISDA and CSA Documentation negotiation
- Experience in onboarding clients to a Markets platform and leading strategic projects in Global Markets or Structured Products in banking
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in legal document negotiations / client facilitation / client onboarding for a markets platform of a banking institution
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate a matrix organization and build relationships with key stakeholders
- Self driven multi-tasker with excellent communication skills to be able to interface with clients and work with internal stakeholders to complete critical onboardings
