What you'll do:
The Senior Assistant Manager/Deputy Manager manages the running of procurement and financial operations, responsible for timely month-end and year-end financial closings including financial and management reporting. He / She will ensure compliance with company policies, corporate directives and procurement/accounting policies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coordination in the procurement, administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company
- Exercise internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for procurement, accounting and cash management
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies
- Develop, implement and update/maintain robust procurement/accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Assist in monthly budget utilization and other management reports including variance analysis, quarterly financial update to the management, Audit Committee, Board and other stakeholders
- Review and enhance work processes and internal controls, making recommendations for improvement where necessary
- Monitor cash flow, accounts and other financial transactions
- Coordinate and facilitate audits on the SHF’s operations and financial activities
- Work closely with various divisions to resolve operational procurement/finance issues
- Supervise finance/procurement staff on the accurate and timely processing of all financial/procurement transactions, including raising of grant disbursement claims
- Responsible for asset accounting
- Manage different types of funds and ensuring proper accounting and tracking of each fund type
- Secretariat to Audit & Governance Committee and Investment Committee
- Ensure compliance with the corporate governance for Charities and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) and meeting all reporting requirements
- Coordination and input into SHF’s Strategic Plan in budget/ERM/IA/EA planning
- Negotiation/ Discussion with the Ministries and Govt depts as necessary to obtain desired funding quantum
- Adopt best practices to minimise financial risk
- Other ad hoc projects assigned
What you'll need
- Minimally 6 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, a CA is an advantage
- Accredited degree in Accounting
What we'd prefer:
- At least 2 years of managerial experience, audit experience is a plus
- Competency in Singapore Financing Reporting Standards and other finance/accounting statutory requirements.
- Knowledge of Accpac and Procurement
- Familiar with Code of Governance for Charities and IPCs
- Experience in financial planning and budgeting
- Experience in P&L responsibilities
- Ability to promote and execute changes and is pro-solution
- Ability to translate numbers into practicality
- A good meeting minutes writeraccounting and budgeting efforts of the company
