Business System Analyst

• Deliver comprehensive documentation of system requirements, conduct thorough analysis of existing systems, and propose effective solutions to enhance efficiency.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and ensure alignment between technology solutions and organizational goals.

• Develop detailed system design specifications based on gathered requirements, outlining the data flow and functionality of the proposed solution.

• Evaluate existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend modifications or enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

• Work closely with development teams, project managers, and end-users to ensure the proposed solutions align with business objectives and user needs.

• Assist in the testing phase by creating test cases, conducting system testing, and facilitating user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet quality standards.

• Support the implementation phase by collaborating with development teams and providing guidance to ensure smooth deployment of new systems or enhancements.

• Contribute to project planning by estimating timelines, resource requirements, and potential risks associated with system development and implementation.



Job Responsibilities:

Sitting within Information Technology Department, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible:

• Manage the functional requirements and UI/UX aspects of the project.

• Analyse the customer’s needs, scope the problem and develop use case to address the problem.

• Map and review the business requirements to technical design.

• Document requirements, source and evaluate alternatives, and recommend solution that best fits the customer’s needs.

• Work with the customer’s users to ensure smooth deployment and adoption of new solution.


Technical Skills Set and Experience:

• Write clear and articulate technical documentation.

• Prepare end user documentation (functional specification, training manual, user manual, business process flows etc) on the operation or maintenance of IT systems.

• Assist with the documentation of technical design, specification, and technical solution.

• Ability to interact with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and have a good basis of technical understanding.

• Gather user feedback to update and improve documentation content.

• Maintain document repositories used by project teams and assist with project documentation as needed.


Requirement:

• Tertiary Education in relevant fields is preferred.

• Hands-on experience in full project development life cycles.

• Past track record in business analysis, application solutioning and design.

• Analytical, conceptualisation and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to model business requirements in business process modelling tool.

• Pro-active, resourceful, and self-motivated to innovate and take smart risks to achieve business goals.

• Ability to facilitate discussions/workshops to elicit, manage and prioritise key business needs.

• Ability to take a broad, strategic perspective as well as drill deep to understand business needs and challenges.

• Knowledge in one of the following areas will be added advantage: Agile Methodology, Cloud Technologies, Container Technologies, and Knowledge Management.

• Knowledge in Singapore government securities will be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of Singapore Authority procurement and governance processes will be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of design thinking and workshop facilitation will be an added advantage.

• Results and customer oriented.

• Team player with strong organization and people handling skills.

• Good communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to pitch ideas and influence stakeholders.
