About the role
Reporting to the Senior Director, Legal and External Affairs, the incumbent will be responsible for providing general support for all aspects of legal work which any of the legal counsels may require assistance with from time to time. The incumbent will be expected to have a high degree of professionalism, strong legal ethics, good research abilities and have the capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
The incumbent is required to:
- Review and negotiate contracts, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that the contract is advantageous to the company.
- Assist the legal team in preparing, reviewing and editing legal documents and memoranda.
- Perform legal research on a myriad of legal issues and regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist the legal team in day-to-day overseeing of legal, risk and compliance duties and responsibilities for the company.
- Provide support on any IP registrations and coordinating with external service providers to ensure timely updates, filings and responses are promptly done.
- Compile information and assist with the preparation of documents for: timely registrations, filings and regulatory submissions (including product registration filings and regulatory compliance filings), amendments and renewals with the relevant authorities and government bodies, and maintain organized, detailed and accurate records of same.
- Assist with the application and maintenance of various business and operation licenses.
- Liaise with external parties in multiple jurisdictions, including: (a) external counsels; (b) notaries, (c) government offices, (d) translation firms, etc. on legal and administrative matters.
- Organise and maintain the Legal Department’s filing and tracking systems, especially in relation to intellectual property and corporate secretarial matters.
- Utilise his/her own judgement and initiative to determine how to multi-task and manage his/her workload.
- Provide general support for all aspects of legal work, administrative work and other matters or projects from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 1 years of legal related experience
- Law degree from a reputable university, preferably common law jurisdiction
- Proactively takes steps to integrate with the organisation
- Strong correspondence and language skills
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability and willingness to learn, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
