Depending upon the level of competency and prior experience, incumbent shall be guided through The Sciente Way to deliver the services in the following major areas:
- Manage full set of accounts for at least one of the countries - Malaysia, India and USA entity;
- Take the responsibilities for cross border transactions ie. withholding tax, transfer pricing etc;
- Ensure the compliance to Accounting best practices, year-end closing and support the end-of-year audit processes
- Work closely with Client Facing Managers & Clients to formulate Service Agreements/Terms of Business/Scope of Work (SOW) for services offered to clients and issuance of invoices accordingly;
- Assist in costing of services being offered from overseas locations;
- Manage the monthly processing and checking of payroll and reimbursement for external associates within the stipulated timeline;
- As and when required, manage the end to end process in setting up overseas entity(ies) covering local taxation and regional labour laws etc. of overseas subsidiary;
- Govern the activities related to company secretarial services;
- As and when required, assist in Government grants for Sciente group companies (ie. Internationalisation)
- Assist Head of Accounts in meeting the stipulated deadlines for various transactions such as GST returns, IR8A, IR21, tax returns, etc;
- Maintain the fixed assets register and journal entry (i.e. Maintain fixed assets records, depreciation entry, fixed assets tagging, etc);
- Participate in special projects if required e.g. Payroll projects including implementation/ replacing of system;
- Assist in auditing the accuracy, completeness of the documents and records (ie. SOW, Invoices, payroll information, contract, etc) and
- Work with agility as a management lead catalyst for the growth of the business in an ever-changing environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least a Diploma/ Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent;
- Chartered Accountancy certification is an advantage;
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience related to activities for full set of accounts and stated job role responsibilities is mandatory;
- Prior hands-on experience in a regional environment shall be highly desired;
- Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably Tally;
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills in regional language such as Malay (Bahasa Melayu) and English are very much required because this role requires communication with Malaysia government agencies;
- Confidence in communication with clients and external stakeholders on a regular basis;
- Ability to deliver the responsibilities of this job role with confidence;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word/ Excel;
- Experienced in high volume invoice management, hands-on with Singapore/Malaysia/India payroll, expense claims etc., AR/AP operations and in submitting GST/VAT returns, IR8A, IR21 etc.
