Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President, Group Tax, you will be responsible for advisory work and income tax compliance for CapitaLand Investment group of entities as part of the Group Tax team.
Responsibilities
- Provide tax advice on tax structuring, investments, acquisitions, and divestment of assets.
- Advise on tax implications in respect of cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions and planning tax efficient profit repatriation etc.
- Review/perform/coordinate on tax due diligence on acquisitions of companies/entities.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation, regulations, and industry trends.
- Prepare and file Estimated Chargeable Income, corporate tax returns, and computations to Tax Authorities.
- Prepare and present informative reports and presentations on tax-related matters.
- Handle replies to queries from Tax Authorities.
- Verify tax assessments and raise objections, where applicable.
- Participate in any other tasks/projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or ACCA / CPA qualification or equivalent
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or a large organization with in-house tax function
- Exposure to the real estate industry / private equity space and some knowledge of tax regimes of Asia-Pacific countries
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- A resourceful, analytical and self-motivated mindset
- Strong adaptability and technical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well with all levels of staff
