The Assistant Lead Engineer (Optimisation) will plan and oversee multiple inter-dependent projects, throughout its project lifecycles to ensure completion within the defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints.
He/She will lead the delivery of any form of product/transformation based on the demands from workflow re-engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Apply design thinking approach to conduct creation or ideation plan for innovation from user conversation or reviews
- Work with stakeholders to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables.
- Identify gaps and align with operations team on adoption strategy based on the requirement priorities
- Convert requirements into valid actionable use cases with clear definition of value added and optimizing existing solutions or adaptation of better technology
- Provide inputs and support to develop the project management framework, templates, tools, and systems to deliver cost, time, and quality metrics.
- Detailed review of all available and relevant process or SOP documents and identification of risk or possible workflow re-engineering
- Review and identify operational challenges, issues, and concerns and able to convert them into opportunity for improvement or optimization
- Drive relationship-based review approach to enhance existing operational models using digital solutions
- Support collaboration with key stakeholders, to gather requirements to derive strategic plans for possible transformation initiatives (implementation, workflow, etc.)
- Work with key personnel and recommend IT investment strategy to support IT solution designs or implementation.
- Help in project development to ensure delivery is within the given timeline.
- The infrastructure scope covers, but not limited to, all aspects of cloud, servers, hypervisors, containers, operating systems, databases, middleware, devops, security, support tools, network, SDN as well as related governance framework.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree in Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in infrastructure domain areas such as Operating Systems, Networking, Security, Automation, or other related technology
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills with holistic thinking
- Possess good knowledge on private, hybrid and public cloud environment and technologies
- Resourceful and able build independently strong networks and partnerships
- Experience in design thinking or user-centric methodologies or practices
- Have a good hands-on experience in product lifecycle development, integration, implementation, and testing is a plus
- Experience in dev-ops or software development is advantageous
- Possess good knowledge of ITIL processes and certified would be advantageous
- Familiarity with security, audit, and compliance knowledge
- Ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical language
