GBC English Congregation
Job Description: Pastor (Care Groups and Counselling Ministry)
Reports To: Lead Teaching Pastor
Background
Care Groups (CGs) at GBC are a key building block in the body life of GBC. The number of CGs has grown to accommodate both new and existing members. The ministry is a key secondary teaching outlet that helps members establish community amongst fellow believers and warrants its own focus. The dedicated focus includes both identifying and training leaders for CGs and establishing new groups or renewing older ones.
In recent years, GBC’s elders have also identified an increasing need for counselling among members with a range of needs. These needs can be met both within the congregation (members the elders have approved to attend relevant seminary courses) and beyond (identifying like-minded Biblical counsellors). As our congregation has grown, directing members to counselling resources is a growing need.
