What you'll do:
As a Payment Processing & Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's financial processes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include recording and processing payments, issuing cheques, managing direct expenses, and providing crucial administrative support to the HR department. You will also be responsible for preparing nostro account charges, performing reconciliations, and handling other administrative tasks as required. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong time management skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
* Ensure timely and accurate recording and processing of payments
* Verify transactions are properly authorized before payment
* Issue cheques or process payments via SWIFT or GIRO for direct expenses
* Post accounting entries into the Bankmaster Plus system accurately and promptly
* Provide administrative support to HR department including posting and verification of HR department’s accounting entries into BM+
* Accurately record staff benefits and related expenses
* Process quarterly TSA fee billing and monthly expenses closing
* Prepare nostro accounts charges and overdraft interest charges for input into the BM+
* Perform reconciliation of cheque engraved form
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Payment Processing & Support Officer role will bring proven experience from within the banking sector, specifically in Accounts Payable/Payment Processing or Nostro reconciliation functions. Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel and Word is essential. A deep understanding of payment processing procedures and nostro accounts reconciliation is also required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Experience in Accounts Payable/Payment Processing or Nostro reconciliation functions within a bank
* Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Word
* Strong knowledge of payment processing procedures
* Understanding of nostro accounts reconciliation
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
