ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Junior Backend Engineer in the Mobile and App team, we expect you to have a strong interest in technology and ability to drive innovation with creative solutions. You should have a broad expertise and experience in various areas such as web, mobile, Cloud, emerging technologies, and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Development: Develop, test, and maintain service-oriented applications using Golang.
- Participate in technical engagement through the design and development of complex transactional systems.
- Resolve integration and interfacing issues between various back-end systems. Optimise application performance, scalability and security.
- Research & Learning: Stay current on industry trends and new technologies that could benefit our software development process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams responsible for backend systems and data stores to ensure solutions are efficient, consistent, and meet the needs of the business.
- Code Review & Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve code quality through writing unit tests and performing thorough code reviews.
Basic Qualifications
- Have a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must Have at least 1 year experience in Backend development and completed at least 2 projects.
- Have good understanding in micro services concepts (using tools and technologies for messaging, RPC, containerization, etc.), ECS, Lambda, API gateway, X-Ray and Serverless technologies.
- Good understanding with Elasticsearch, Elastic Cache, RDS, DynamoDB and SQL/NoSQL
- Good understanding with developing, designing, implementing, and running microservices in a cloud environment at scale.
- Good conceptual understanding with DevOps, CI/CD tools such as git, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins, or equivalents.
- Understanding of Mobile Development environments (Responsive and Adaptive Design).
- Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, JavaScript, ES2015 (ES6 / ES7). Experience with Angular or React JS
- Good understanding of mobile and web applications.
- Familiar with Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation & Terraform
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Fast learner, achiever, able to stretch to learn.
