Job Description:
Title: Editor
Location: Anglo-Chinese School (Primary), 50 Barker Road, Singapore 309918
Duration: July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025 (with option to renew annually from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027)
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break).
- Maximum of 60 hours per month.
- No service required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
Responsibilities:
- Provide artistic direction and content editing for school publications and website.
- Assist in the development of write-ups for school heritage, collection of memorabilia, and archival work.
- Perform layout and design tasks for publications.
- Advise on artistic direction, technical specifications, and print media resources.
- Oversee works on the Heritage Gallery, including write-ups, collection of ACS memorabilia, and archival work.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in English Language, publishing, publishing studies, media, or electronic media preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Thorough knowledge of the English language.
- Methodical working style with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for negotiating changes with writers/staff.
- Self-motivated with good ICT skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in school publications.
