Library & Archives Solutions Pte Ltd (LAAS) incorporated in 2000, is a wholly-owned company of the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. It is created to be the sole distributor of products and services of NLB. The Company plans to reach out to the library industry to exert leadership in library innovations, as well as provide assistance to libraries that wish to expand their services and grow their capabilities. It also aims to provide productivity tools to reduce the cost of operations for clients, and to enable libraries to embrace digital technology to better serve users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team in providing exceptional library services, including guiding patrons on library etiquette and promoting collections and services.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance patron engagement through innovative programs, such as book displays, storytelling sessions, tours, and roadshows.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality customer service, ensuring excellence in handling inquiries, membership registrations, and resolution of customer service issues.
- Manage and coordinate the training and development of staff and volunteers to maintain exemplary service standards, including handling patron inquiries, collection maintenance, and user education on library facilities and services.
- Plan and manage staff roster and movement to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Direct the processing of library materials to support collection maintenance, ensuring relevance and accessibility of resources.
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of library facilities to meet operational requirements and exceed customer expectations.
- Manage library operations, including compiling reports and statistics, crisis management, financial matters, incident management, and administrative support.
Requirements:
- Experience in delivering exceptional customer service and fostering patron engagement.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
- Proven track record in supervising staff to maintain and elevate service quality standards.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service offerings and operational requirements.
- Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in conducting mobile frontline services and providing logistical support as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and library software
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
- Experience in setting up new libraries will be an advantage.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least a minimum of 8 years of working experience in libraries
