Kulicke & Soffa is seeking a passionate and results driven tax professional to be based in the company’s corporate headquarters in Singapore. This is a truly global role covering the APAC region, the US and Europe, giving the right candidate the opportunity to drive change and make a real impact. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax, the Specialist, Tax & Transfer Pricing will assist with strategic planning, implementation and documentation of international tax and transfer pricing strategies for the company’s global business.
The successful candidate will interact with peers, external tax consultants, local and foreign tax authorities and corporate functions and business unit personnel to manage tax and transfer pricing projects and compliance activities. The role will also have frequent exposure to senior stakeholders in the business. Therefore, it is essential that you have excellent management and communication skills.
Responsibilities for Internal Candidates
- Partner with the various business units to provide pragmatic solutions to commercial arrangements with respect to the company’s global tax structure
- Manage transfer pricing documentation compliance and Country-by-Country reporting
- Assist with tax audits and tax authority engagement, where necessary with support from external advisors
- Monitor changes in tax laws or new tax legislation in various tax jurisdictions where the company operates, assess the applicability and impact to the business and communicate pertinent information to stakeholders in a timely manner
- Develop and implement tax planning initiatives, including internal (re)structuring projects with a view to identifying opportunities for cost savings, simplification, and risk minimization
- Develop key initiatives to drive automation and simplification of processes
- Build strong internal relationships within the finance team and across the organization
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of tax and/or transfer pricing experience in public accounting or law and/or MNC industry experience
- Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills
- Able to work independently and to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong technical knowledge of transfer pricing, Singapore and international tax rules, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST
- Familiarity with taxation in APAC is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate highly technical matters to business partners around the world whose knowledge will be much more general is required
- Degree in Tax, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or Law
- English language is required, fluency in Mandarin language preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel required with experience with Oracle general ledger software other ERP systems strongly preferred)
- Experience in US GAAP reporting is a plus
