Accounting Manager

The individual must be both competent and knowledgeable in the full accounting application.


The ideal candidate must be able to manage and supervise timely preparation of financial accounts, unaudited financial statements and tax and possess the ability to ensure internal and external financial reportsare within established guidelines and government requirements.


BROAD FUNCTIONS


Lead the accounting team in achieving overall goals, operational efficiency and accuracy,and customer fulfillment.

Develop and implement initiatives to elevate the level of accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of staff.

Prepare financial accounts, financial statements and compute tax accurately and within stipulated timeframe.

Drive corporate activities to achieve targets.


SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Handle complex jobs:

  • Book-keeping
  • Unaudited financial statements
  • Tax and GST matters, including computation of tax,prepare ECI, perform GST reconciliation, filing of GST and Corporate Tax/Personal Income Tax
  • Payroll jobs (including CPF submission) and yearlyIR8A forms

2. Liaise professionally with clients and relevant authorities on accounting and tax related matters.

3. Ensure that clients’ requests and feedback including queries are handled promptly and effectively.

4. Provide the necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of business initiatives by liaising and co-operating closely with other departments.

5. Any other matters assigned.


Lead the accounting team in achieving overall goals, operational efficiency and accuracy,and customer fulfillment.

This includes:

  1. Planning and strategizing on the use of resources and allocation of jobs to achieve optimal usage of manpower resource.
  2. Training new staff in handling accounting jobsindependently.
  3. Reviewing direct reports' work to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  4. Assist to guide Team Leaders in managing theirteam's fulfillment.
  5. Liaising professionally with clients on accounting and tax related matters, and ensuring that clients’ requests and feedback including queries are handled promptly and effectively.
  6. Continuously improve the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team through:
  7. Initiating ideas and participating in their implementation to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity.
  8. Active participation in the development/ enhancement/ implementation of systems and/or procedures.

The successful candidate must be able to manage theday to day accounting activities within company’spolicies and procedures, prepare the monthly full set of accounts for audit and tax purpose. An individual withsupervisory experience who is self-motivated, goal oriented andworks well under pressure.

  • At least a Degree in Accountancy from a recognized university or passed the ACCA Qualification exams,ACCA’s Practical Experience Requirement (PER) and the Professional Ethics module of ACCA.
  • At least 8 years' experience in preparing full setsof accounts and performing/ reviewing tax computations.
  • At least 5 years' experience in leading anaccounting team.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks software an advantage.
  • Good account relationship and planning skills and a proven ability to drive results.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively in team environment to ensure achievement of common goals and results, significantly influencing team’s direction and results.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort in developing and managing senior level client relationships.
  • Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; articulate and persuasive presence and speaking experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Acts responsively and flexibly to meet challenges.Develops and maintains effective working relationships with internal human resources and external contacts even if they have competing priorities and viewpoints.
