This will be a sole contributor role. As the Engineer of Workplace Safety and Health, the ideal candidate is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing company's employee safety at work. The main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to WSHE Legislation and Regulations (WSH Act).
JOB DIMENSION (SCOPE)
- Identifying and recommending best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Assess the company’s HSSE Management System to identify any deviation, weakness or significant change in organization, risk control measures and provide recommendation for improvement.
- Conduct or coordinate in-house training program, safety promotions or other safety-related activities for all staff.
- Perform safety audits and inspection and to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures.
- Assist in maintaining certifications such as ISO, Bizsafe certificates.
- Conduct weekly 5S inspection and prepare reports.
- Update and manage all Risk Assessment documentation.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.
REQUIREMENT
- Must have minimum 2 years’ experience in safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Relevant and related Diploma.
- Must have professional knowledge in WSHE legislation and regulations (WSH act and Environment).
- Able to work independently.
