Main Responsibilities
Regional Functions
- Compile & consolidate monthly statement for STAR Education group including Regional Entities
- Work closely with the in-country Finance & Sales Team
- Prepare Board deck for Regionals Entities.
Management Reporting of regional, local and group
- Ensure timely month and year end closing.
- Ensure revenue & expenses accounted are complete and accurate.
- Prepare relevant revenue and expenses variance analysis for management reports.
- Prepare monthly audit schedules.
- Prepare relevant data for board deck.
Ensure compliance to Edutrust, Audit, Tax and other statutory requirements
- Review and update documents for Edutrust (CPE) requirements regularly.
- Assist in audit process and liaise with external auditor for submission of audit request report.
- Prepare audit financial reports for Star group.
- Prepare annual returns and XBRL for Star group.
- Prepare annual tax returns for Star group.
Forecasting/Budgeting
- Prepare monthly forecasts of regionals, local entities and group.
- Prepare yearly budget of regionals, local entities and group.
New Projects / System implementations
- Support any new projects as and when required
- Work closely with the new SMS implementation teams
Accounts Payable/ Receivable Function
- Support Accounts Payable Team including Operations
- Support Accounts Receivable Team including Operations
- Compute student recruitment commission for Local Student Recruitment staff and in-country representatives.
Resolve operational issues and act as a business partner to various business units
- Support business units in finance matters and follow up on queries from both internal and external parties.
Others
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the company from time to time.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
- ACCA / CPA will be an added advantage.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Handle full set of accounts including consolidation
- Possess integrity and ability to exercise discretion in confidential matters.
- Meticulous, proactive, independent and able to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills to liaise with internal departments/trainers/vendors.
- Familiar with Navision or similar accounting system.
- Competent in MS Office particularly in Excel skills.
- Able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines.
