Network Engineer

Summary of Job Role

To manage and administer the organisation’s systems, Active Directory and Enterprise backup infrastructure to ensure high availability, security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. To install, configure, upgrade and administer Alcatel Lucent wired and wireless network switches, controllers and management modules.
2. To manage and administer Peplinks, Radware Network Load Balancers, HP Aruba ClearPass 802.1x authentications.
3. To perform network problem. issue identification and resolution, network devices firmware patching, bug fixes and upgrading.
4. To perform regular network performance monitoring to identify any possible performance issue and intrusions,
5. To perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware and IOS upgrades, inventory and configuration documentation and capacity planning.
6. Participate and perform annual BCP/ DR exercises, internal and external audits.
7. Managing Microsoft Azure network setup and configuration.
8. Work closely and provide technical support to other IT teams as required.
9. To manage vendor relationship and ensure SLAs are met in accordance with the underpinning contracts.

Job Requirements

1. Advanced Diploma or University degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or Network Engineering, and/or 2-5 years or more of equivalent work experience.
2. Advantage to possess the following certifications: CCNA/ CCNP.
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in either Healthcare or Hospitality industry but not compulsory.
4. Minimum 2 years extensive hands-on experience in managing and administering Alcatel Lucent LAN (Layer-2 and Layer-3) and Wireless technologies.
5. Minimum 2 years extensive hands-on experience in managing and administering Cisco WAN (OSPF, BGP etc) technology.
6. Strong technical knowledge and experience administering and configuring HP Aruba ClearPass and Peplink appliances.
7. Strong experience and/or good knowledge in operation support for 24x7 data centre environment.
8. Good knowledge in Azure Cloud Direct Connect setup.
9. Good knowledge in Incident, Problem and Change Management framework such as ITIL.
10. Strong written, oral, interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
11. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (via wireshark).
12. Highly self-motivated and directed.
13. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
