Job Description
The Origami-Inspired Mechanisms Developer will focus on pioneering lightweight, efficient designs for untraditional robotics, particularly flapping-wing drones and soft robots. This role involves applying innovative origami techniques to enhance mechanical performance and functionality in robotics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop origami-inspired automatic landing mechanisms for flapping-wing drones to achieve stable landings on varied surfaces such as cylindrical branches and slopes.
• Construct a comprehensive library of modularized origami actuators capable of producing a range of movements such as translation, bending, and twisting.
• Conduct research to understand the influence of geometrical parameters on the mechanical performance of origami-inspired designs and actuators
Qualifications
• BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience in developing origami-inspired mechanisms and familiar with 2D prototyping techniques, 3D printing, etc.;
• Proficiency in mechanical design, mechatronics and kinematic modeling.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good teamwork abilities, self-motivation, and self-reflection.
• Proficiency in the English language, both in oral and written form.
