Job Responsibilities:
- Report to the Co-Heads of Debt Capital Markets – Loans & Bonds (“DCMLB”)
- Support the Co-Heads of DCMLB manage business from creating and executing strategies, day-to-day operations, financials reporting, risk management, internal/external product promotion, initiatives /project management and governance stand point of view across APAC (ex. Japan).
- Support the team (Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne) underwrite loans & bonds product which includes underwrite application, facilitating committees and monitoring positions which includes liaising with credit and policy divisions in Tokyo
- Support the team comply with internal policies and procedure while promoting loan syndication and bond origination which includes liaising with policy and risk divisions in Tokyo
- Create budgeting and Key Progress Indicator plans and reports, and explain to APAC managements including Tokyo Headquarters
- Lead internal product promotion & enhancement initiatives including revision and enforcement of policies and procedure which includes liaising with Tokyo Syndication department as well as DCMLB in EMEA and the US
- Support or lead the projects which may include liaising with legal, compliance and IT departments in APAC (incl. Tokyo)
- Support the team in external marketing efforts including collaborating with the Corporate Communications, and facilitating and budgeting for events
- Lead DCMLB’s periodical auditing and self-assessment efforts
- Escalate to the managements any incidents and potential risks to the DCMLB business
- Support Co-Heads in managing resources and onboarding new joiners while working with Human Resource department
- All of the above to be conducted in English or Japanese depending on the audience/counter-parts
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualified
- At least 8 years and more corporate banking experience in roles of either relationship management of corporates or front-line business planning
- At least 2 to 3 years and more of Loan Syndication & Distribution experience
- Excel skills to handle several spreadsheets properly and Powerpoint/Word skills to create various reports
- A team player who is able to work/collaborate well with various stakeholders in a large Tokyo-based Japanese organization with adequate communication skills and strong sense of responsibility
- Presentation skills to effectively communicate with internal overseas stakeholders including management members
- Accuracy of work to complete the duties to support management and the other marketing staff
- Although not a requirement, proficiency in business level Japanese is preferred and will be positively evaluated
- Understanding and willingness to work closely with the relevant Japanese Corporate primary offices and stakeholders in Japan
- Good understanding and business experience towards/with Japanese financial institutions
