Leading independent asset manager is looking for a Head of Operations.
Objectives
The Head of Operations leads a team of 3 to 4 Operations Officers.
He/she supports the Relationship and Portfolio Managers and works closely with the Operations Officers to ensure timely booking of trades and corporate action into the client accounts in Wize, a Portfolio Management System.
The Head of Operations is responsible for integration, quality control, timely reconciliation between the various custodian financial institutions and the company's portfolio management system. Specific responsibilities are listed below.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 3 to 4 staff
- Responsible for the relationship with the software company and with various banks on project basis
- Reconcile cash and securities positions against custodian banks
- Process trades and corporate actions, where applicable
- Validation of orders and position via Wize for data feed banks accounts.
- Check data feed entry, ensuring fees and tax are reflected accordingly.
- Monitor data transfers from custodian banks into Wize.
- Setup new securities in the Wize and static data maintenance
- Prepare monthly customized reports for family office/clients
Other tasks as may be directed by Senior Management from time to time
Qualification / Skills
- Only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents
- Experience in Operations department of a financial institution, ideally with a background in settlements
- Securities administration or treasury settlement
- Some knowledge of reconciliation process will also be an asset.
- Proficiency in Excel especially functions (Excel VBA scripting will be an asset)
- Hands-on experience in Bloomberg, Reuters or Telekurs preferred
- Independent, able to multi-task
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- Self-driven, with strong analyticall skills and an eye for details
