The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Project Officer to conduct research relating to biomechanics research. The incumbent will contribute to the design, testing, prototyping and conducting of user trials, providing insightful content. The role aims to deliver high-quality research outcomes that can drive the advancement in the field of biomechanics.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the conduct of research project with research team members to ensure completion of deliverables
- Design and develop innovative solutions for new products and components
- Design and implement testing protocols, analyze data, and iterate designs based on results.
- Lead the prototyping process, ensuring accuracy and functionality
- Assist the team in preparation of grant proposals for submission to grantors
- Supervise and contribute to research projects, providing technical expertise and guidance.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder on all aspects of research which include consolidation and reporting of findings.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with a strong research focus on mechanical design, prototyping and testing.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies, data analysis, and statistical techniques.
- Proficiency in using tools/software for data collection and analysis (e.g., CAD softwares, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation tools, etc.)
- Proficiency in additive manufacturing is advantageous
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information, collaborate and build relationship.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to analyse and interpret research data
