Job Description :
- Deliver detailed engineering / construction drawings review, submittal management
- Work on M&E (Building Services) through basic design to detailed design stages and effectively managing multiple M&E service providers / sub-contractors to meet budgets and project milestones
- Lead a team of subcontractors’ M&E engineers by outlining and assigning work, reviewing/guiding technical accuracy and technical outcomes in accordance with tender specification requirements
- Collate necessary information, administer production of design documents, proposals, shop drawings
- Assist in coordination of quality assurance and constructability of designs with other disciplines (CSA/Process MEICA) and other design consultants
- Respond to client enquiries about technical issues in a way that maximises understanding
- Manage Building Services such as ACMV, Fire Protection / Fire Alarm, Building Management Systems (BMS), Integrated Security
- Management, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems, Access Control, Plumbing and Sanitary, etc. throughout engineering and construction period
- Review sub-contractors’ submittals, GA/shop drawings, vendor technical specifications (VTS) of materials and systems, and other documents, incorporating of 3D model info for construction
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering and construction issues arising in the project
- Carry out site visits throughout the project to record keeping tab on the sub-contractors’ progress of the project against the Programme for Completion
- Attend coordination meetings, site tests, off-site tests and inspections with SO’s and sub-contractors’ representatives
- Ensuring quality standards and all HSE requirements are adhered to during the installation of Building Services systems
- Other related duties, as and when assigned by the management
Duties :
In discharging these responsibilities, candidate’s duties include:
- Understand tender documents of the project, clarify and raise technical queries to SO if required
- Understand and review PFD and P&IDs, mechanical equipment and pipe sizing calculations, datasheets, technical specifications and equipment layout, schedule of equipment and GA for piping and EIC routing shop drawings and prepare submission for SO’s approval
- Answer technical queries from subcontractors, evaluate technical proposals, clarify with subcontractors and ensure the compliance of technical requirements of tender documents are met
- Prepare Building Services equipment installation sequence and methodology in coordination with C&S/Architectural works, advise planning of machineries and manpower for installation schedule
- Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day mechanical installation works with various leads of M&E subcontractors
- Support system testing and commissioning for Building Services
Qualifications :
- Minimum (7) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in large scale industrial plants including water treatment, wastewater treatment and WTE projects or public infrastructure projects specialised in M&E Building Services systems
- Familiar with design and calculation of heating/cooling load, equipment sizing (MV& AHU), Electrical load, etc
- Proven track records in installation of HVAC equipment, rotary equipment, piping, industrial process equipment and building services systems including Chillers, AHUs, MV system, packaged units, plumbing and sanitary, drainage and fire protection system
- Good understanding and interpretation of relevant codes and standards including Singapore Standards, ASME, ASTM, ISO, etc. and having working knowledge of authority submission and approval procedures
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline, certified
- Professional Engineer will be an advantage
- Ability to utilise 2D and 3D engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, good teamwork spirit
- Willing to work on-site with multi-disciplinary construction team
